When standard parking lifts are too wide for a project, customization becomes the key.

Recently, SYRISON successfully designed and manufactured a custom slim four post car hoist for an Australian customer. Based on our popular FPP Four Post Parking Lift, this special version was engineered with a significantly narrower structure, allowing it to be installed inside an enclosed truck.

The customer described it simply as:

“The small hoist, the skinny style hoist, the one that we use for putting inside the truck.”

Although the request sounded straightforward, it required careful engineering to maintain structural strength, lifting stability, and vehicle safety while reducing the overall width.

This project demonstrates SYRISON’s ability to provide customized hydraulic parking lifts for unique applications beyond conventional garages.

Why the Customer Needed a Slim Car Hoist

Traditional four post parking lifts are designed for garages or parking buildings where installation space is relatively generous.

However, enclosed transport trucks present a completely different challenge.

The available width inside the truck is limited by the vehicle body, insulation panels, structural reinforcements, and loading requirements. A standard four post lift would simply occupy too much space, leaving insufficient clearance for both the vehicle and operators.

The Australian customer required a lifting solution that could:

• Fit completely inside the truck body
• Maintain safe vehicle loading
• Leave adequate clearance for opening doors and walking around the vehicle
• Support reliable hydraulic lifting
• Preserve the stability of a traditional four post design

Instead of recommending another product, our engineering team customized the dimensions of the existing FPP model to perfectly match the customer’s truck.

Custom Engineering Based on the FPP Platform

Unlike many manufacturers that only offer standard sizes, SYRISON develops customized parking lifts according to each project’s available space.

For this project, several important modifications were made.

Narrow Overall Width

The entire lift structure was redesigned with a reduced width to maximize the usable interior space of the truck.

Optimized Runway Spacing

The runway distance was adjusted to accommodate the customer’s vehicle while maintaining excellent driving comfort.

Compact Column Design

The four columns were repositioned to minimize occupied floor space without compromising structural rigidity.

Removable Power Unit and Remote Control Operation

One of the biggest challenges in this project was the extremely limited space inside the enclosed truck.

To maximize the available width and provide sufficient clearance for vehicle loading and unloading, SYRISON removed the conventional power unit bracket and control box mounting bracket from the lift columns.

Instead of permanently installing these components on the columns, the hydraulic power unit and electrical control box are stored separately inside the truck. A handheld remote control is used to operate the lift, allowing the operator to raise and lower the platform conveniently while keeping the lift structure as compact as possible.

This customized design offers several advantages:

• Maximizes the usable interior width of the truck
• Eliminates protruding brackets that could interfere with vehicle movement
• Makes transportation and maintenance more convenient
• Provides flexible control through a handheld pendant
• Maintains the same lifting performance and safety as the standard FPP model

Perforated Runways for Secure Vehicle Tie-Down

Since this lift is designed for installation inside a transport truck, keeping the vehicle securely fixed during transportation is just as important as the lifting function itself.

To meet this requirement, the runways are manufactured with multiple elongated slots along their entire length. These slots allow tie-down straps to pass directly through the platforms, making it easy to secure the vehicle by its wheels.

This design enables fast and reliable wheel restraint without the need for additional anchoring devices, helping prevent vehicle movement caused by vibration or road conditions during transport.
