How Car Dealers Double Their Warehouse Capacity: Real Case Studies from Sweden and Korea
Recently, we facilitated a new project for Terry, a car exporter based in South Korea. What makes this story special is that Terry was introduced to us by our long-term partner, Simon, from Sweden.
This word-of-mouth referral highlights a common challenge faced by automotive professionals worldwide: How to maximize limited warehouse space for increasing inventory.
The “Chain Reaction” of Quality: From Sweden to Korea
Simon (Sweden) originally started with 9 units of our 2-post car parking lifts. After seeing the structural stability and ease of operation in his vehicle storage facility, he didn’t hesitate to recommend SYRISON to his business associate Terry, who was facing high warehouse rental costs in Korea.
Solving the “Pickup Truck” & Space Constraints Challenge
Before Terry placed his order, Simon reached out to us again for his own expansion. He had acquired a new garage and needed to stack pickup trucks—which are heavier and taller than standard sedans.
He asked two critical technical questions:
Can multiple parking lifts be connected or combined?
What is the total width if installing units side-by-side in a restricted space?
The Solution: Optimization vs. Real-World Constraints
For Simon’s new 14-meter wide warehouse, we had to account for a central partition wall and enough clearance for maneuvering larger vehicles.
Initially, the idea was to fit 3 triple parking lifts on each side. However, after a professional review of the site dimensions and the turn radius required for SUVs and pickups, we provided a safer, more functional layout:
Left Side (7m): 2 triple units (Capacity: 6 cars)
Right Side (7m): 2 triple units (Capacity: 6 cars)
Total Capacity: 12 cars (all easily accessible)
Caption: Simon’s 14m warehouse layout optimized for 4 triple units to ensure enough clearance for large vehicles.
Ongoing Project: Designing a 20-Car Layout for Korea
Meanwhile, in Korea, Terry is implementing a similar strategy. He sent us a detailed video of his current warehouse along with the site dimensions.
Terry’s challenge is typical: He has two separate areas (15m and 5m wide) and needs to fit at least 20 cars. Our engineering team is currently simulating the best configuration using our 2-post parking lifts to ensure every centimeter is utilized.
